Short Description: The website “he Fell asleep” is an electronic literature project that digitally translates a selection of excerpts from “Il libro dei sogni” by Federico Fellini (Rizzoli, 2020).

Longer Description: The website “he Fell asleep” is an electronic literature project that digitally translates a selection of excerpts from “Il libro dei sogni” by Federico Fellini (Rizzoli, 2020). We selected 21 from the dreams that were faithfully recorded and illustrated by Fellini from the 1960s to 1990 and detected 7 conceptual threads that link them. You can scrape the dreams through the filters or jump from one to another through the internal links, carried by one common thread at a time. You can also browse them in the traditional chronological order, but watch out for the auto scroll: as you know, dreams easily get lost. Click on the green words to see Federico’s drawings and you will get the full digital experience of a piece of his incredible mind.

Mentoring Context: The project “he Fell asleep” was developed for the “Digital Literature” course, of the MA in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano, held by prof. Giovanna di Rosario in 2022.

Bios: Mina Bavosi, Maria Paola Canali, Silvia Casavola, Maria Martinuz, Antonio Sacchet and Luca Vanetti are design graduates from Italy, currently attending the MA in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano.
