Longer Description: "O LIVRO DAS CAPITAIS" (THE BOOK OF CAPITALS) is a bilingual interactive videobook, within an online multimedia platform composed of interactive content and videos with the storytelling of the book "A flight over Brazilian capitals", written by Gisela de Castro and published by Zucca Books in 2019. This publication brings five books, one for each macro-region of the country, which together form the map of Brazil, as a puzzle. The book won the first prize from Brazilian Union of Writers (RJ) and was part of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2020. For the construction of the interactive videobook in https://www.olivrodascapitais.com.br/ the stories were narrated by the author herself, with translation in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language), a visual-gestural language, with the objective of proposing the use of new media and digital tools for the dissemination and promotion of technology and culture for hearing and deaf, through the approach of several areas of knowledge: geography, literature, music, design, visual arts, audiovisual, games etc.. The project was born in 2021, during the pandemic, at the professional master's degree of the Pos-Graduate Program in Creative Media (PPGMC) of the School of Communication in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (ECO / UFRJ). All content registered, developed, gathered, and made available on the site is free and free of charge.

Mentoring Context: We formed a working group, with people of different levels of education and age groups: Professor Julia Chaim Salles, from the University of Montreal, co-advisor to the student, author and project coordinator Gisela de Castro, was the project supervisor at the Pos-Graduate Program in Creative Media (PPGMC) of the School of Communication in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (ECO / UFRJ). She provided the Klynt license and all tools to make the site; Eduardo Liron, filmmaker, philosopher, expert in interactive narratives, worked as a technology consultant and guided the construction of the platform; Gabriel Liborio, graduated in Design from PUC-RJ, worked as a webdesigner and developer of the Klynt platform, which was hosted on his personal desktop; Sean Barbosa, a student at the UFRJ School of Music composed and executed the entire original soundtrack, both for the 27 stories, as well as for the other videos and “sound clothing” of the site; Marília Santos, percussionist of the Group “Batuque Feminino” (female drummers), performed the atabaques for the stories of Fortaleza - CE and Salvador - BA; Lucas Melo, a 2nd year high school student at Eleva High School, demonstrated maturity, organization and leadership, assuming the positions of project manager and assistant designer; Felipe Taves, a student at the same school, worked on synchronizing and mastering the songs in each video; André Cibreiros, the youngest of the group (14 years old), a 1st year high school student at Eleva High School, assumed the responsibility of working as a design assistant and content reviewer. The assembled team demonstrated excellence, with affection, commitment and dedication. No money was involved, and the team worked in mutual collaboration. Gisela (with her good reputation in the cultural market) leaded the group inspired by Rachel Botsman’s concepts. This interactive videobook spent 4 months to be made.
